ABOUT THE SUGAR PLUM TOUR:2012 Sugar Plum Tour, Sunday, December 2nd from 2 to 5:30pm. Order your tickets today! The 2012 Sugar Plum Tour is a real winner! The five homes this year, plus the Patron Home, each have a unique story. One is a stucco, Arts & Crafts Style home from the teens decorated with 18 trees, including a marathon tree. Meade & Hamilton designed the Free English Manorial Style home from the twenties. These architects are known for designing many structures listed on the National Register. A 1910 home on Merriman Road owned by two generations of the same family is filled with family antiques and memorabilia, and a tree in every room. A WW II cape cod has been enlarged to almost triple the original, adding angles, levels, raised ceilings, and and walls of windows, giving it a far more contemporary feel. The oldest house (1876/1910) is actually two that share a common wall. It was lived in by four generations of the same family, until the current owners bought it and totally renovated it, even building on more space. There will be a Celebrity Santa in this Primitive Christmas Home. The Patron Home is the owner's dream home, finished ten years ago, made of stone and natural materials. The turrets, angles and style give it an old world feel. The tour will definitely set you in the Christmas mood, and all net proceeds will be added to the Gay Community Endowment Fund, the income from which will continue to be granted annually to worthy Akron area organizations and programs.
